BOW TIES

Definition & Description:   "Butterflies" in Italian; medium-sized pasta with a crimped center and pinked edges to form the shape of a bow tie. Bow Ties made in the Italian style are egg-free, while some versions contain egg.

Other Names:   Farfalle

Best Uses:   Great in entrées, side dishes, cold salads or baked dishes. Almost any type of sauce complements farfalle, but it's nice to showcase the fancy shape by using a lighter sauce. Small Egg Bows are most often used in soups.
